Help us improve air quality in your local community

People living in Newington, Teynham and Ospringe can find out more about plans to improve air quality in their area at a series of meetings in the next few weeks.

Swale Borough Council has designated areas in each of these communities as air quality management areas, after monitoring found levels of nitrogen dioxide above Government recommended levels.

The meetings are being held so residents in the affected areas can get an update on the council’s plans to tackle the issues, and find out how they can help the council work towards improving air quality.

Flyers were posted to residents for the first meeting in Newington on Wednesday, 19 September, and residents in other areas will receive them prior to the meetings taking place.

The meeting in Teynham is set to take place on Thursday 4 October, at 7pm.The date for the Ospringe meeting is yet to be confirmed.

Anyone who is unable to attend and wants to ask questions or be kept updated can email
