THE DREAMCODE
1.Transport
Consider
ways in which we reduce car dependency, and consider where the
vehicles might be stored when not in use.
2.Ecological
Element- Environmental Sustainability
3.Promote
Local Distinctiveness
Reflect and
consider context within which the site is based. Have respect
for local character and views.
4.Consider
Safety, health and security of a living environment. E.G. Disabled
Access.
5.Value Open Spaces,
both functional and formal
6.Innovation
and Artistic Merit
7.Consider
colour as a major aspect within urban design.
8.Consider
surface and texture. What
materials are best suited to add to the visual distinctiveness? How will
the weathering of these materials affect the design in 20-30 yrs
time?
9.Capacity. What is the
acceptable capacity that the area can hold? How does layout
affect this?
10. Consider
the effect of light on a space, both through windows and
unnatural lighting.

Dream Code
Architecture Week 2006
June 16th-25th
The Idea
To look at
the idea of a design code, and how that can affect the way
houses are built. Thus introducing the idea of design excellence into
the master planning procedure. The models produced from a half
term workshops series, were presented alongside the art works by
Daniel Nash, Honor Thomas -Dudley, Joseph Wilson, and David Jupe.
The Master Plan Arts Strategy was also presented alongside these
works.

the adults and children worked really hard to produce the model
of their dream home.
