Rushenden Art in the Public Realm

The Public consultation Held in the Gateway, Rushenden road for the permanent sculptural installation is now completed. Art at the Centre is pleased to disclose that 61 people responded to the consultation, and of that group over 70% preferred the Shoal motif.

The concept for the designs have been worked up by artist Richard Perry after a research and engagement period in Rushenden. Richard Perry ran a series of stone carving workshops with the public during April which were very well attended and resulted in a series of unique relief artworks created by the community (see 'Chisel it!' project for more details).

Richard Perry is now busy carving the final artwork which will be placed in situ in the middle of summer.
