Art at the Centre has appointed artist Erin Newell to produce a new artwork for Milton Creek, which contains links to other artworks and a blog for the Friends of Milton Creek.

This is a new media project, which integrates historic and contemporary curiosities that relate to the Milton Creek area, exploring the community's perceptions and recollections of the Creek - using films and writing, image, sound recording and interviewing. The project will also encompass a blog for Friends of Milton Creek and documentation of the Peter Liversidge public commissions, a film produced by the resident artist Andrew Dodds, and the Heather and Ivan Morrison 2011 Commission".

Erin Newell will research and interview members of the community, selecting and editing a narrative to contribute to a digital archive of Milton Creek that can be accessed online via a new dedicated website. Erin will be use the Room Mobile Space (located on Sittingbourne high street 3rd - 31st May) to conduct interviews during the research period.

‘Milton Creek Melody’ is being commissioned by Art at the Centre, Swale Borough Council. Art at the Centre is an ambitious approach to urban renewal, with arts as the driving force for transformational change and economic uplift in Swale. This project is funded by Coco Fund and HCA.
